Enjoy a Day at Santee Lakes

Santee Lakes in California offers activities for the whole family.

Santee is home to one of the best lake systems in Southern California, and Santee Lakes is where you’ll find a well-stocked destination that features camping, fishing, and a myriad of outdoor activities. The system is managed in order to offer premium recreation options to the community while protecting and restoring the natural environment. The day-use amenities include picnic areas (some can be reserved for your summer outings), horseshoe pits and volleyball courts, an amphitheater, numerous playgrounds, and an on-site visitor’s center and gift shop.

The Park:

Guests can rent bikes, go fishing, boating, picnicking, camping and visit the many playgrounds for the kiddos. There are a total of 7 lakes and 7 playgrounds for people to explore. Your children will absolutely adore the themed jungle gyms. The Spray ground was built for those hot summer days when the kids want to splish and splash to cool off. Boulder Island is another favorite for those who love adventure.

Most guests come to the lakes in search of a good catch. There are 5 lakes available for day fishing and the last 2 are reserved for registered campers. The lakes are stocked with Catfish and Rainbow Trout on seasonal basis and with Bass and Bluegill on a regular basis. Getting the go ahead to cast a line is simple at Santee. No state fishing license is required, only a permit from the General store on the grounds is needed.
