Local Honey & Farm Fresh Produce

If you are in the Santee area, visit this quaint farm to pick up some of the freshest eggs and purest honey.

Hilliker’s Ranch is a family owned business, raising chickens since 1942.

Their chickens are kept in a cage-free environment and are not given any antibiotics or hormones. Not only are the eggs chemical-free, the farm offers vegetarian eggs. The feed for the chickens is free of animal by-products, consisting of corn, soybeans, grains, vitamins, minerals, and calcium.

As you walk around, you might spot ostriches and emus roaming the grounds. The farm prides itself on allowing their animals to meander freely so they are happier and healthier than they would be in confinement.

The farm sells two different types of eggs. They raise both White Leghorns and Brown Leghorns. The Brown Longhorn is a larger chicken and eats more food so their eggs are slightly more expensive. Whichever type of eggs you chose to buy, both promise a hearty and healthy meal.

Before you leave, make sure to buy some of their famous honey jars. Hilliker honey is known to be some of the sweetest around, so don’t miss out.

The farm is open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 11:30 AM and reopens at 12:30 AM until 5 PM.
