Top 5 Best Parks and Recreational Areas in Santee

There are over ten parks and recreational areas found in Santee, California. Among these numerous parks, locals recommend that you go to the top five most visited recreational areas first:

1. Woodglen Vista Dog Park

Although it is not the biggest park in the city in terms of landmass, Woodglen Vista Dog Park boasts the most visitors and amenities. From barbecue grills to a skate park, there are a lot of activities you can experience in this park. There are even sports fields for baseball, basketball, tennis and other purposes. This park also has an area for your dogs to roam around off-leash.

2. Big Rock Park

If you and your family are planning to have a relaxing picnic date, Big Rock Park is the ideal place for you. This recreational area has lots of picnic tables and an open green field for you to select a suitable picnic area. This park also has an off-leash pet area and a sand volleyball court.

3. Shadow Hill Park

Shadow Hill Park has some great features as well as tennis and pickleball courts for players to utilize. The park also includes a trail for walking and jogging

4. West Hills Park

West Hills Park has mostly the same amenities as the other parks, but additional unique features, the gazebos found around the playground and up a hill. The park also contains a well-lit baseball field to allow play in the evenings.

5. Walker Preserve

The Walker Preserve is a 1.3-mile (2.1 km) road built for walking and biking, which originates in Magnolia and ends in Lakeside. The trail has some artistic murals and historical artifacts you can read and observe as you pass them. The area contains table shaded gazebos and benches for people to rest.

Kids and adults alike can come and visit these beautiful parks and enjoy their diverse amenities. Four-legged family members are also welcome as long as they are on their leash and their owners must clean up after them.
